All About Drawing. 100 Dutch Artists

23 April – 28 August 2011

‘All About Drawing. 100 Dutch Artists’ provides insight into the development of drawing in the Netherlands from the 1960s up to the present day. Diana Wind, director of the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam and artist/curator Arno Kramer selected a hundred artists for whom drawing is the most important discipline in their oeuvre. From Collection De Stadshof a large drawing and collage ‘Brooklyn Bridge’ of Willem van Genk has been selected.

The book entitled ‘All About Drawing. 100 Dutch Artists’ approaches drawing more broadly than the exhibition does. Pietje Tegenbosch and Hans den Hartog Jager sketch the international context and lead us along the boundaries of drawing. In her essay, Maria Barnas demonstrates how closely the signature – writing – lies to drawing. And Renée Steenbergen writes about the perception of drawing in both private ad museum collections. Brief texts on all the artists have been compiled by Yasmijn Jarram, Nicole Theeuwes, Wilma Sütö, Rutger Wolfson, Arno Kramer and Diana Wind. The book costs € 34.50.
