First major exhibition opens in October 2026

The first result of the new partnership between the De Stadshof Collection and the Museum of the Mind is on the way. In October, the Museum of the Mind, located on the Grote Markt in Haarlem, will open the exhibition Outsider Art! – 150 Years of Outsider Art in the Netherlands, featuring masterpieces from the collections of both De Stadshof and Museum of the Mind.

The exhibition brings together masterpieces of exceptional artistic quality. Powerful, often spectacular objects make the exhibition a feast for the eyes; their direct visual language appeals to a broad audience, even those without prior knowledge of art. At the same time, it invites visitors to reflect on who defines what art is, which creators are recognized, and how we view creativity, normality, and cultural value.
