De Stadshof
The years have borne much fruit, from the moment that Liesbeth Reith set up a foundation for a museum for naive art in the Netherlands in 1985, and started working on collecting, and from the moment that Ans van Berkum in 1994 within six years, put the Zwolle Stadshof Museum on the international map.
It was a serious blow when Zwolle’s municipal council were no longer willing to support the museum and the museum had to close its doors in 2001.
But the fever for the ‘ raw gold’ is back since in 2002 the collection was moved to the Dr Guislain Museum in Ghent. From time to time the De Stadshof Collection Foundation organises exhibits out of the large collection in other art museums and sites.
