Museum Dr. Guislain in Ghent, has been founded in 1986. It is accommodated in a monumental 19th-century building. The institute is responsible for three museum collections: history of psychiatry, social photography and visual (outsider) arts. The Dr. Guislain Museum originally was not an art museum, but a museum on the history of psychiatry.
