D’yeux

Nedjar, Michel

A rough drawing with thick, pastey, white contours marking the outline of a head, nose and eyes. The head shares its eyes with two mirrored birds, whose beaks touch the bridge of the nose. The face is coloured jet-black, but not completely covered. The colour of the paper therefore contributes to the liveliness of the eyes and mouth. His work exudes a primeval atmosphere, earthly and archetypal, heightened by his use of materials and his unpolished painting technique.
